read the floor plan after check in

Sometimes ago, I read from an article saying the first thing we have to do after check in to a hotel room is, read and understand the floor plan which usually at behind the main door. Especially check out where the EXIT SIGNS is and remember it. Another thing is, check out if there is any torch light in the room. Don’t look down at this torch light; it is very useful if anything happen, like fire and earthquake. *touchwood*

Talk about torch light, seems like only hotel in Japan has torch light, I never saw it in other hotel that I have stayed before. *weird* Usually I will check out all the cabinet and drawer when we check in to a hotel room to see if there is any gold or money left by the guests before us.

Frankly speaking, I never bother these exit signs whenever I check in to a hotel. But, after the Mumbai bomb blast and the recent fire in a hostel in Taiwan, I know I have to check out the exit sign and the location of the emergency exit when I was in the hotel. I don’t want to risk staying the hotel for free; I would rather pay for it.
